NEVADA FICTIVE KIN LAW

The state of Nevada has a fictive kin law that permits you to obtain custody of children who are not your biological children.

Nevada’s statute specifically states:

NRS 432B.0657 “Fictive kin” means any person who is not related by blood to a child but who has significant emotional and positive relationship with a child”.

Under this statute, you can petition the Family Court to remove your foster children from foster care and into your care. DFS hates this, as they lose control. And control is what DFS is all about. The DAG representing DFS will claim that there is caselaw in Nevada that holds fictive kinship cannot be obtained via the relationship or bond between a foster parent and their foster child. This is a blatant lie. They all say this, but there is absolutely no such caselaw.

Every child in Nevada foster care has an appointed pro bono lawyer. Get in touch with your foster child’s lawyer about obtaining fictive kinship get get your children out of foster care.
